The combat in Crowfall is more action oriented than traditional Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG) and does not use tab-targeting. There is no hard target and attacks generally happen in front of the character with various shapes such as cones, rectangles and spheres. Ranged attacks use the targeting reticle to define where the player is shooting. The goal is to have a combat that looks fluid, feels more visceral and requires more tactical thinking. The pace of combat allows players to recognize their opponent's attacks and perform blocks, dodges, rolls or other actions to respond to those attacks appropriately.[1]
