Crowfall was crowdfunded on Kickstarter.
Crowfall funded it's initial goal of $800,000 in less than 72 hours, and reached $1,000,000 in less than 10 days.
Currently Crowfall is the #18 most funded video game in Kickstarter history and the most funded video game in the previous 12 months as of 3/21/15. This appears to reverse a trend of larger video games not doing well on Kickstarter since late 2013. All but 2 of the previous largest funded 20 video games on Kickstarter were funded in 2012 and 2013.
